Our Pastoral Leadership

Reverend James C. Allen, Sr. - Pastor
Superintendent Hannah Moore Memorial District
Administrative Assistant in Massachusetts First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, C.O.G.I.C

Administrative Assistant & Superintendent, Pastor James C. Allen, Sr. a native of New Haven for 31 years, received his formal training from the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College – Connecticut Chapter.  He also studied Human Services at New Hampshire College. After leaving CT, he began his Pastoralship in Boston, MA at People’s C.O.G.I.C where he served for (9) years. He held many positions in that jurisdiction under the late Bishops C.W. Williams and J. P. Morgan - President of Evangelism, Home and Foreign Mission Departments and District Superintendent.

Pastor Allen’s ability to dramatize the Word of God makes it so easy to comprehend and apply to one’s life today. His every desire and effort is directed to building lives and helping to develop healthy Christians for the work of the ministry in the church and life mission in the world. He prides himself with the study of end-time and the return of the second coming of Jesus Christ and has done extensive study on the topic. As a matter of fact, in his preaching he almost always winds up with the admonishing of preparation for the return of Jesus Christ. He is God’s man in the 9th month of God’s plan to give him an expected end.

Pastor Allen is the visionary for the Shekinah Glory Ministries. He is husband of over 40 years to First Lady Mattie L Allen, also the father of three children Evangelist T. Nicole Allen, Mrs. Felicia Van Rader (Jon), and Elder James Allen, Jr. (Vanessa) and six grandchildren.  He is convinced ‘that the best is yet to come.

From the Pastor’s Desk

God Bless you, I continue to move full speed ahead. Convinced that my dreams continually bring glory to God, I decided never to look back. It is a dream of a place where the hurting, depressed, the frustrated, and confused can find love, acceptance, help, forgiveness, guidance and encouragement.  It is a dream of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with the hundreds of thousands of residents in Boston, Brockton, and various places in Massachusetts. It is a dream of welcoming old and new members into the fellowship of our church family, loving, learning, laughing and living in harmony together.

It is a dream of developing people to spiritual maturity through Bible studies, small group seminar retreats, and a Bible school for our members. It is a dream of equipping every believer for significant ministries by helping them to discover the gifts and talents God gave them. It is a dream of sending out hundreds of church workers around the community and the world. It is a dream of which we build a church for Boston and surrounding areas yet simple; a beautiful facility including a worship center seating thousands, a counseling and prayer center, classroom for Bible studies and training lay ministers, and a recreation area. All this will be designed to minister to the total person spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially, and set in a peaceful inspiring garden landscape. WE ARE WORKING!

I confess, and state in confident assurance that this dream continues to unfold by the favor ofGod and it will fully come into reality. Why? Because, "(As it written, I have made thee a fatherof many nations,) before him who believe, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and called thosethings which be not as though they were.  Romans 4:17.You have an open invitation to come and fellowship with the Shekinah Glory Ministries family.

In His service,

Reverend James C. Allen Sr.

Pastor

Co-Pastor Mattie Allen - First Lady
Chair of Superintendent Wives - Massachusetts First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, C.O.G.I.C.

Evangelist Mattie Allen was brought up in a Methodist Church but, in her adult life she was introduced to and accepted Jesus as her personal Savior. Upon being “born-again” she became a member of the Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C. in New Haven, Connecticut where she was nurtured by Mother Sadie Brewer and other mothers of the church.

They immediately saw something in her, despite some of her family members telling her that “this way of life is for some people but, not for everybody.” She came into the church working and serving with great motivation and determination. She served as President of the Home and Foreign Missions until she relocated to New York and finally, Massachusetts.

The move to Massachusetts placed her in a position as First Lady, as her husband was appointed as pastor in Boston, MA. She continues to serve as Co-Pastor with her husband, who is pastor and founder of the Shekinah Glory Ministries (C.O.G.I.C., Inc.). Evangelist Allen graduated from New Haven’s Academy of Business, and South Central Community College and is retired from the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad.

She is the wife of Pastor (& Superintendent) James C. Allen, Sr., the mother of three wonderful children, Evangelist T. Nicole Allen, Felicia Allen-VanRader (Jon, son-in-law), Elder James Allen, Jr. (Vanessa, daughter-in-law), and six grand children, Kiron, Joshy, James, III, Joshua Caleb, Jasmine, and Jacob.
